An injection-molded plastic kit of the American FM-1 Wildcat carrier fighter in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss. It is the Easy Assembly format with a reduced number of parts and large sections that fit together easily. The package holds clear plastic for the canopy glazing and decals. The model is ideal as a quick and carefree building project.
The FM-1 Wildcat was the license-built version of the Grumman F4F-4 fighter, produced from 1942 by a General Motors division. In appearance it matched the F4F-4 with folding wings, but the armament was reduced to four heavy machine guns. The FM-1 flew above all from the decks of escort carriers, where it covered convoys and took part in anti-submarine work.
Use liquid cement for plastic; thanks to the large parts the build goes quickly. Finish and paint the cockpit before the fuselage is closed. Lay down a primer before painting and apply the paints with an airbrush or a brush. The three-tone blue-gray camouflage is typical of the Atlantic schemes; discreet accenting of the panel lines adds depth to the model.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
