This product is not a model but a turned metal replacement barrel for the short 7.5 cm KwK 37 L/24 gun. It replaces the plastic barrel from a kit with a faithfully shaped metal part with a drilled muzzle and exact geometry. It is intended for models of the early versions of the German Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. A, B, C, D, E and F (F1) tank in 1:72 scale. Aber is a Polish manufacturer of turned barrels and photo-etched accessories.

The real subject

The short 7.5 cm KwK 37 L/24 gun was the original armament of the early Panzer IVs in the role of an infantry support tank. The low-velocity gun was suited above all to high-explosive fire, and its markedly short barrel is characteristic. Only the later versions received long anti-tank guns.

Fitting tips

Cut off the plastic barrel and clean up the seat, then glue the metal one on with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The metal part ensures an accurate round muzzle and the shape of the short barrel. Degrease it before painting and apply a metal primer.
