The cockpit canopy 1:72 Hurricane Mk.I (open-closed) from Rob Taurus, for the British fighter of the Battle of Britain period.
Responsibility details are not available.
A vacuum-formed clear part for the Hawker Hurricane Mk.I fighter in 1:72 scale. The open-closed designation tells you that the model can be built either with the canopy closed or with the sliding section pushed back.
It entered RAF service as the first fighter monoplane with retractable landing gear, and in the summer of 1940 it made up the numerically stronger half of the islands' defense. Structurally it came from the older school: the tube frame covered with fabric at the rear of the fuselage was easy to repair and stood up well to hits. Early machines had a two-blade propeller with fixed-pitch blades and a fabric-covered wing; metal wings, a variable-pitch propeller and armor behind the pilot's back came later. It is the Hurricane Mk.I that is credited with the larger share of the kills scored during the Battle of Britain.
The framing on the Hurricane canopy is fairly dense, so it pays to spray the inside with the cockpit shade first and only then the outer camouflage. Cut the masking tape on a smooth surface with a sharp knife into strips matching the width of the frames. Degrease the whole part before spraying, because paint holds badly on a greasy surface.
The shipment contains the transparent part only. The Hurricane kit and its paints are not included.
