Responsibility details are not available.
A short-run injection-molded plastic kit from Special Hobby in 1:72 scale. It captures the floatplane version, which is what the letter v in the designation refers to, standing for the Czech word for water. The box combines finely engraved plastic with resin parts and photo-etch, including among other things the winch equipment for towing targets. The decal sheet supplied covers real floatplane machines. It is a model intended rather for more experienced modelers.
The Letov S.328 was a Czechoslovak two-seat biplane of mixed construction, used for reconnaissance and as a light bomber. It was powered by a radial engine and was one of the typical machines of the prewar Czechoslovak Air Force. The floatplane version S.328v was built in only a small number and was used to tow aerial targets for the training of coastal anti-aircraft artillery on the Bay of Kotor. In place of fixed landing gear it had a pair of floats.
With short-run kits, reckon on cleaning up the molding edges and dry-fitting the parts before gluing. Glue the plastic with a thinner modeling cement; first wash the resin parts free of mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate); protect your airways when sanding resin. On a biplane it pays to add the struts and the taut rigging. Apply a primer before painting; an airbrush and subtle emphasis of the detail are ideal.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
