Tamiya X-23 Clear Blue (10 ml) — translucent acrylic paint (Tamiya)

The acrylic modeling paint Tamiya X-23 Clear Blue from the Tamiya Acrylic Mini range of water-thinnable acrylics in a 10 ml package. It is a translucent (glazing, transparent) paint with a gloss finish: it is not meant to cover the surface beneath but to color it like a filter. The X line has a gloss finish and the paint can be applied with a brush or an airbrush; before it dries it can be washed off with water, while for spraying it is thinned with acrylic thinner.

Use

• Tinting the position (navigation) lights and light lenses of aircraft and vehicles blue
• Coloring glazing, cockpits and clear parts like a color filter
• Glazing over a silver or metallic surface for candy and metallic effects
• Fine shading and color transitions over a base shade
• Brush and airbrush application, thinned with acrylic thinner

A translucent paint is usually applied in thin coats, and the saturation grows with the number of coats.
