Mounted figures in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian workshop MARS Model. The set holds twelve figures. The castings are plastic and come without a finish.
In the fifteenth century the Grand Duchy of Lithuania was one of the largest states in Europe, reaching from the Baltic deep to the east. Its cavalry matched that: it mixed western influence in the form of lances, swords and plate elements with eastern and steppe practice, that is the light bow, the saber and the swift envelopment. The medium cavalry stood between armored lancers and light scouts: protected enough for a head-on clash and at the same time mobile enough for pursuit. These units were decisive in the long struggle with the Order's state on the Baltic, which came to a head in the great battle of 1410.
Mounted figures tend to be split into rider and horse, so test seating them dry and fine-tune the inner side of the thighs if need be. Paint the horses in several shades of brown and dun so that the troop does not look machine-made. The shields and pennons are the ideal place for the colors of the Grand Duchy and for the devices of individual families.
The goods come as castings that have to be assembled and painted. Paints and glue are not enclosed, unless stated otherwise.
