Responsibility details are not available.
A masking set from the Czech manufacturer Omask intended for the Messerschmitt Me 262A-1a kit in 1:72 scale from Arma Hobby. Take note: these are not canopy masks but masks for the national insignia and markings. Instead of decals, you therefore spray the insignia onto the model in paint.
The advantage is fundamental and concerns mainly the final appearance. A decal is always a thin carrier film, which creates a noticeable edge on the surface, and where it does not settle perfectly onto gloss varnish the so-called silvering shows up as milky flat patches under the decal. A sprayed insignia has no film and no edge: it is part of the paintwork, so once the surface is flattened it blends in exactly as on a real aircraft. At the same time it can be weathered, sanded or partly rubbed through to simulate wear without a decal peeling off.
For modelers building the Me 262A-1a from Arma Hobby in 1:72 scale who dislike silvering and the visible edge of decals and want the aircraft markings sprayed in paint. Working with masks takes a little patience and an airbrush, but the result far surpasses decals.
This is modeling accessory, not a kit. The Me 262 plastic model, paints and an airbrush are not included in the package.
