A printed display base for models with a motif of the square concrete slabs of a Soviet airfield apron. An acrylic sheet 3 mm thick measuring 280x180 mm, 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The base carries a printed motif of the square concrete slabs used to surface Soviet airfield aprons. The joints between the slabs, their regular grid and slightly differing shades break up an otherwise uniform surface, so a model does not stand on a bare table but on a background with a scale and a texture of its own. In a photograph it shows at once, because the grid of joints gives the eye something to judge size by.
An acrylic sheet 3 mm thick, measuring 280x180 mm, weighing 170 grams. The material is rigid, does not sag under the weight of a model and, unlike a paper or cardboard base, does not warp even after long storage. In 1:72 scale the area corresponds to roughly twenty meters in length and thirteen meters in width, so a single-seat aircraft fits on it with room to spare around it.
The base is finished and nothing has to be added to it. It is enough to lay it on a flat surface and stand the model straight on it. Anyone who wants to go further can frame the edges with a strip or add small scenic accessories. Clean the surface with a soft dry cloth; coarse fabric and solvent cleaners can damage the printed layer.
For the modeler who photographs finished models or displays them in a cabinet and does not want to build a whole diorama for the purpose. It also suits a modeling competition, where a base visually seats the model. It does not contain a model, figures or scenic accessories, unless stated otherwise.
