This injection-molded plastic kit from MiniArt captures the German Sturmgeschütz III assault gun in the Ausf. G version from the February 1943 production period, in 1:72 scale, and in the configuration with winter tracks (Winterketten). Besides the plastic parts, the box contains photo-etched parts and a decal sheet with several marking variants. The smaller scale makes both the build and the placing of the vehicle in a compact diorama easier.
The StuG III Ausf. G was the most numerous version of the assault gun series built on the Panzer III chassis. Its low silhouette and its 7.5 cm StuK 40 gun in a fixed superstructure made it a versatile means of supporting infantry and of destroying tanks. The widened winter tracks improved mobility on the Eastern Front in deep snow and mud.
In 1:72 scale handle the fine parts carefully and use liquid cement for plastic. After applying primer, paint with an airbrush; even a small model comes alive with weathering, using washes and pigments to bring out the rivets, the welds and the traces of wear, especially on the winter tracks.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
