An injection-molded plastic kit of the T-72M1 main battle tank in 1:72 scale from Revell. It is a proven mold with a manageable number of parts, well suited to a quicker build for a collection. The model offers a choice of two versions of the road wheels, so you can bring it closer to the earlier or the later look of the vehicle.
The T-72M1 was the export and license-built version of the Soviet T-72 main battle tank. It was powered by a diesel engine and carried a 125 mm smoothbore gun in a rotating turret, completed by an autoloader. Tanks of this family spread to a number of armies around the world, license production ran in Central Europe as well and the machines served for decades. Compared with the base configuration the M1 version brought heavier frontal armor and further changes and became one of the most widespread tanks of its era, met in many conflicts and in museum collections.
Use thin cement for plastic and assemble the running gear according to the wheel option you choose. Paint the lower hull and the running gear before the fenders and the tools cover them. Apply a primer before painting; an airbrush is ideal. A panel wash, dust and dry edge highlighting suit a green or three-tone scheme well. Dried mud on the running gear gives the tank a combat look.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
