A plastic kit of the German midget submarine Type XXVIIB Seehund in the late version, in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian brand ICM. The model is injection-molded in gray plastic, has a two-part full hull, separate diving planes, a twin rudder, a conning structure with a periscope, masts and the attached side tanks. Two external torpedoes and a display base are included. For the exact contents, go by the information on the package.
The Seehund, meaning seal, was the most successful German midget submarine. The XXVIIB project was created in the spring of 1944 and by the end of the war about two hundred and eighty-five had been built. They went into action from January 1945 and operated from IJmuiden in the Netherlands. The late version represents the production form with modifications that improved the range and the operating qualities for longer missions by the two-man crew.
Join the parts with liquid cement for plastic and clean the small pieces up carefully. Finish the periscope and the masts with a brush and set the attached tanks symmetrically. Spray the hull with an airbrush and bring out the panel lines with a dark wash. The model shows well on the display base supplied.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
