Formation lights are flat luminous strips on the fuselage by which machines keep their place in a formation in the dark and in poor visibility. On a model they are a small but striking feature: they have sharp edges, a clearly bounded area and a different color from the surrounding finish, so they are hard to paint by hand. Ready-made colored elements get around that work and the straight edges come out at the first attempt.
The name ties the set to the UH-1Y kit from Dream Model in 1:72 scale. Compare the placement of the strips with the instructions before applying them, because the position differs between individual machines and in a small scale a shift of a millimeter shows. Apply the elements onto a finished and dry coat of paint, not under it.
The procedure for applying them differs between the individual Quinta lines, so follow the manufacturer's instructions supplied with the set and do not invent a different procedure without support in those instructions. Clean and degrease the area under an element beforehand, transfer them with fine-tipped tweezers and do not press them over an edge, so that a strip does not break.
The set suits modelers of modern helicopters who want clean, straight light strips on the fuselage. The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
