The M1A1 Abrams main battle tank of the US Marine Corps in 1:72 scale as a plastic kit from Academy.
Responsibility details are not available.
Academy offers the Abrams in the small scale as an injection-molded plastic kit. This is a newer boxing, for which the manufacturer has prepared a new decal sheet with several marking options, among them Marine Corps machines. To build it you will need plastic cement and paints; those are not part of the delivery.
The M1A1 is the second major development stage of the American main battle tank. Compared with the first version it received a 120 mm gun, revised protection and overpressure ventilation of the fighting compartment. The Marine Corps operated its Abrams tanks separately from the Army and used them in amphibious operations and in desert campaigns. They differed from the Army machines in details of their equipment and above all in the way the crews modified them; it is exactly these small things that make a model interesting.
Finish the running gear and the tracks before you close the hull up, or you will no longer be able to reach them. In 1:72 scale work with a thin coat of paint so that the engraved detail is not lost; an airbrush is a great advantage here. Sand shades look better if you lighten them on the horizontal surfaces and put a darker wash into the corners. Keep the dust pigments low down; on the turret really very little is enough.
The package contains unassembled plastic parts without paint. Paints and glue are bought separately, unless stated otherwise.
