Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Westland Sea King HC.4 Commando helicopter in 1:72 scale from Airfix. It is a modern tool with finely engraved panel lines, a folding main rotor and tail boom, and a decal sheet for several markings. The model keeps the distinctive Sea King silhouette, but in the HC.4 version it is the land-based assault variant without the side sponsons, adapted to carrying troops and cargo.
The Sea King HC.4 was an assault and transport helicopter of the Royal Marines, derived from the anti-submarine Sea King. Unlike the original version it lacks the side sponsons and the extra equipment for operating on water; it is meant to work from ships and from land alike, with the option of folding the rotor and the tail to save space on deck. These helicopters proved themselves in landings and in supplying units, among other things in the Falklands War and in the later conflicts in the Persian Gulf and in Afghanistan.
Paint the interior of the cargo compartment and the cockpit and pick out the detail before closing the fuselage; it is worth masking the glazed areas. Assemble and paint the rotor blades and the undercarriage separately. Apply the dark military schemes with an airbrush over primer; underline the service wear and the exhaust staining with a fine wash and a discreet dusting. Check the exact number of markings against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
