A set of figures from Reskit in 1:72 scale with flight deck crew in yellow jerseys: plane directors, officers in charge of movement around the deck and the officers who run the catapult and the arresting gear. According to the name this is the version for the position to the right of the aircraft, so the postures match crew standing along the right-hand side of the machine. It is the counterpart to the variant for the left side.
The flight deck of an aircraft carrier is a noisy, cramped workplace where orders are passed by hand and the color of the jersey settles the job. Yellow belongs to the people responsible for moving the aircraft: the plane director guides a machine into position with his hands, the handling officer decides where everything goes and the catapult officer gives the signal to launch. It is precisely their emphatic gestures that turn a deck scene into a story, because they tell the viewer what is happening to the aircraft at that moment.
Arrange the figures according to the phase you want to show, guiding onto the catapult, spreading the wings or marshaling after recovery. Try the arrangement dry and watch where the figures look and point; the direction of the gestures is what holds the composition together. This version belongs to the right of the aircraft so that the signals are aimed at the cockpit. In a larger scene it is worth adding other jersey colors as well.
