Plastic kit of the BR 41 steam locomotive in 1:87 scale (HO) from Italeri: the German general-purpose locomotive with a tender, a piece of track and decals.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German BR 41 class steam locomotive in the railroad scale 1:87 (HO) from Italeri. The box holds finely rendered parts, a separate tender, a piece of track and decal markings. The assembled model measures about 27.5 cm. It is a more demanding kit aimed at a faithful look of the real subject, not a finished collector model for a layout.
The BR 41 class locomotive was a German standard (Einheits) steam locomotive developed from 1936 above all for fast freight traffic. It was a general-purpose machine with four coupled driving axles that, thanks to a top speed of around 90 km/h, could also handle express trains. More than three hundred were built and they served with the German railroads long into the postwar era.
Use liquid cement for plastic and work in subassemblies, especially the running gear, the boiler and the tender separately. Apply a primer before painting; a classic black steam locomotive comes beautifully to life with gentle edge highlighting, a graphite sheen on the running gear and discreet weathering from coal dust and rust. Apply the decals over a smooth gloss surface. The model is meant for display, so count on patient work on small parts.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
