Revell 59 Sky (RAF) is a synthetic enamel (solvent-based) paint from the Revell Email Color range in a 14 ml jar with a matte surface. The shade matches the color known to the Royal Air Force as Sky, a light, slightly greenish gray-green that was sometimes also called duck egg blue. This is a modeling paint, not a kit.
It is not thinned with water, as it is not an acrylic. Revell Color Mix or a thinner for enamels (mineral spirits) is used. It can be applied with a brush as well as with an airbrush. Light shades cover less well, so work in thin coats over a light base and always stir the paint properly.
Tip: a matte surface is the correct final look, but decals silver on matte. Varnish the area under the decals with a gloss varnish, lay the decal on the gloss and even the model out with a matte varnish at the end. Mask the band on the fuselage, as a sharp edge is typical of it.
For modelers of British aircraft of the Second World War who need the correct shade for the undersides and the identification band. Suitable for a brush as well as an airbrush, for beginners and advanced modelers alike.
Safety: flammable. The vapors irritate the airways. Make sure the area is well ventilated and use respiratory protection when spraying. Keep out of the reach of children and away from sources of ignition.
