This is a modeling paint in a brown shade named after wood. It suits anywhere a surface should look like wood: crates and packing cases, ship decks, tool handles, wooden parts of older aircraft, and small scenic pieces for a diorama. The shade does not depend on scale, so one bottle serves both a small model and a large figure.
Choose the thinner and mixing ratio per the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging, using the thinner made for this range. Mix the bottle's contents thoroughly before working, so pigment settled at the bottom spreads through the whole volume. Apply thin coats and let each dry; a heavy coat fills in the plank engraving, and the surface then looks like plastic rather than wood.
Wash and degrease the model before painting, or the paint will form blotches on greasy spots. Wood is convincingly built up in layers: a base shade, then, once dry, thin irregular strokes of a darker tone along the grain, and finally lightening the edges. Vary each plank slightly so the surface does not look like a single piece. After work, wipe the rim of the bottle and close it carefully, or the cap will stick over time.
Thinner, brushes, an airbrush and a model are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
