Chipping Liquid from Tamiya is an auxiliary modeling liquid intended for creating a realistic effect of chipped and flaked paint on models of vehicles, aircraft and figures. It is applied as an intermediate coat between the base and the top coat; once damped with water the liquid softens and allows the top color to be revealed in a controlled way in selected places, right down to the coat underneath. The product is water-based and the bottle holds 40 ml.
For more advanced modelers who want a realistic rendering of wear, worn paint and rust on armored vehicles, aircraft or dioramas. It calls for a little experience with layering paint and with timing. Gloss and metallic top colors are not suitable for this technique.
Keep out of reach of children. Work in a well ventilated room and avoid contact with eyes and skin. Wash the tools with water after use.
