About product

Tamiya Diamond File (For Photo-Etched Parts)

Tamiya Diamond File (For Photo-Etched Parts) is a fine diamond file made above all for cleaning up photo-etched parts after they have been separated from the fret. The fine diamond grit (a finish equivalent to roughly 400 grit) is tuned for the hard metal surface of photo-etch and gives a balanced ratio of cutting to smoothness. The file cuts equally well in both directions and does not catch even on very thin parts. The half-round profile (one side flat, the other rounded) makes work easier in awkward places as well.

Use

  • Cleaning up tabs and burrs on photo-etched parts after separation from the fret
  • Fine filing of hard metals, stainless steel for example
  • Refining edges and transitions in awkward places thanks to the rounded side
  • Work where an ordinary file would skid on thin photo-etch or bend it

Who it is for

For modelers who work with photo-etched parts and need to clean them up precisely and finely. Suitable for more advanced builders of plastic models.

Protect your eyes and fingers when filing metal. Keep tools out of the reach of children.
