A resin model of the pod of the Khibiny jamming system in the version for the Su-35S, in 1:48 scale, from the Russian brand Temp Models. The pod is carried at the wingtip and on a model it replaces a simplified plastic part or completes a kit that does not have it. It is not an aircraft model but a separate equipment accessory for a finished model.
The Su-35S is the most capable single-seat machine of the Su-27 family, with thrust-vectoring engines and a powerful radar. Its fit includes an electronic warfare system carried in pods at the wingtips, which detects illumination by a hostile radar and answers it with jamming. The version marked with the letter M is the arrangement for this very type. The pod takes the place of the usual launch rail at the wingtip, so it is easy to recognize in the silhouette.
Release the part from the supports with a scalpel and level the mating face on abrasive paper on glass, so that the pod meets the edge of the wing without a gap. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. The antenna covers at the front and at the rear tend to be in a different shade from the body, so spray them separately. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
