The RD-33 engine nozzles for the MiG-29 in 1:72 are a printed replacement for the plastic exhaust nozzles from the kit. An accessory for a model, not an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detail set from the Russian manufacturer Temp Models in 1:72 scale, printed from photopolymer. It holds the exhaust nozzles of the RD-33 engines in the form for the MiG-29 and replaces the plastic nozzles from the kit with them. An aircraft model is not included in the package and the set does not replace one.
The RD-33 is a turbofan engine with an afterburner that in a pair powers the MiG-29 tactical fighter and its derivatives. Its variable exhaust nozzle is made up of rings of thin petals and cannot be missed on the aircraft's rear end. Plastic kits usually simplify it to a smooth cone, so both the texture of the petals and the depth of the view into the nozzle are lost.
Cut the print supports away with a scalpel and sand the pads carefully, because every unevenness shows clearly in the mouth of a nozzle. Glue the parts with cyanoacrylate glue, that is with super glue. The inside of the nozzle looks best in metallic shades with heat staining; metallic paints go on over a smooth gloss base and are harder to mask, so leave them for last. Sanding is best done wet and with respiratory protection.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
