R-60 guided missile, 1:48 is a 3D-printed resin replica of the light Soviet heat-seeking short-range R-60 missile in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds a 3D-printed resin replica of the Soviet R-60 air-to-air guided missile in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory for the external stores. The print keeps the small destabilizer fins and the detail of the seeker head, which on a missile this small an injection mold inevitably simplifies.
The R-60 is an exceptionally light Soviet short-range missile with infrared guidance and one of the smallest weapons of its kind. Its low weight made it possible to hang it even on aircraft that cannot carry heavier missiles, attack aircraft and trainers among them. It was carried by the MiG-21, the MiG-23, the MiG-29 and the Su-25, and by helicopters. Its characteristic feature is the small destabilizer fins ahead of the control surfaces.
Wash the 3D-printed parts in warm soapy water first, to get rid of any print resin residue. Cut the print supports off with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as you can and sand the marks away with respiratory protection. Resin does not bond with polystyrene cement, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a thin coat of primer before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold well on the smooth print. Assemble and paint the armament separately and glue it to the pylon only once the varnish has dried, so that the fine surfaces do not get rubbed.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
