A resin set of landing gear wheels for a model of the MiG-31 interceptor in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. Printing in resin renders the tread pattern and the shape of the hub without the parting line that a plastic wheel always has down the middle. It is not a kit but replacement parts for your own model.
The MiG-31 is an exceptionally heavy two-seat interceptor, and that showed in an unusual arrangement of the landing gear: the main legs carry a pair of wheels set one behind the other and slightly offset to the sides. This arrangement spreads the weight of the machine over a larger area and allows operation from surfaces with a lower bearing capacity. On a model it is one of the features by which you recognize the type at first glance, so it is worth paying attention to.
Cut the supports off with a scalpel and level the mating spots, so that both wheels on a leg stand in one plane. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Paint the tire a very dark gray and the hub separately, following the real thing. On the pair of wheels in tandem, check that they do not touch each other in any way the real machine does not.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
