Pre-cut New Ware kabuki masks for the model of the two-seat Su-30MK combat aircraft in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit and not parts of a model — the package holds self-adhesive masks only, which replace cutting tape by hand and measuring the glazing frames. Kabuki tape is thin, paper-based and pliable, follows the rounded surfaces of the canopy well, holds on an edge and leaves no adhesive behind. The ADVANCED designation places the set in the middle standard of the maker's three-step range (BASIC, ADVANCED, EXPERT), which differ in the extent of the areas covered; the exact list of parts is given in the instructions in the package. The masks are cut to the specific shape of the parts and match one particular tooling of the model.
Su-30MK is the designation of the export multirole branch of the Su-30 family, which in design terms grows out of the Su-27. It is a twin-engine aircraft with a tandem cockpit for two crew and with long glazing divided into several parts. The individual standards of this branch differ from one another according to the customer, including the details of the canopy — with masks, therefore, always compare the shape of the parts with your own model.
Wash the clear parts in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap and let them dry; grease from fingers is the most common cause of masks coming loose. Seat the masks dry with tweezers and press the edges down with a blunt tool. Spray in several light coats, because one heavy coat leaves a step at the edge of the mask. The proven order is the interior shade, then the primer and the top camouflage last — any bleed then does not show on a visible edge. With larger sets work group by group through the instructions and uncover only what you are spraying at the time.
The package contains masks only. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
