A resin landing gear wheel set for a model of the Su-24 strike aircraft in 1:72 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. The resin print renders both the tread pattern and the shape of the rim without the mold seam that runs down the middle of a plastic wheel. It is not an aircraft kit but replacement parts for a model you already have.
The Su-24 is a two-seat strike aircraft with variable-geometry wings in which the crew sits side by side. The aircraft takes off with a heavy load and was also meant to operate from less prepared surfaces, so its landing gear was given a robust design with low-pressure tires. It is exactly that combination of weight and simpler surfaces that makes the wheels a detail worth attention on a model.
Cut the print supports away with a scalpel and level the seating face so that the wheel sits square to the leg. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Spray the tire a very dark gray and the rim separately, following the real subject. A faint layer of dust along the bottom of the tread gives the wheel its weight.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
