Jade Green - an acrylic paint of the Artistic Dense range

This is a bottled acrylic paint, not a kit and not a weathering product. The Artistic Dense range by AK interactive is built for painting figures and busts: the binder is thinnable with water and the paint is, as the name of the range says, dense, so that it holds a stroke on the brush and does not run off edges and folds. Jade Green is a cool green shifted toward blue. It is not the green of a uniform or of vegetation, which tends to be warmer and grayer, but a shade for areas that are to look cool and a little gemlike: the cloaks and fabrics of fantasy figures, enameled and lacquered details, glazes on ceramics in a diorama or a base under verdigris on metal.

Use

• Mix the paint thoroughly before taking it up, as denser acrylics separate into layers in the bottle.
• For a brush you thin it with water or with acrylic thinner, and only in small amounts. The aim is the consistency of smooth cream, not of milk.
• Cool greens generally show through in a thin layer, so over a dark surface count on several passes instead of one heavy layer.
• On a cloak or fabric the shade shades off well, with gray or blue into the shadow and with ocher or a light green into the highlight.
• For an airbrush the dense paint has to be thinned and mixed considerably, otherwise the nozzle clogs.
• After work wipe the bottle around the neck and close it carefully, as dried acrylic on the thread will spoil it in time.

Who the paint is for

For figure painters and modelers who paint with a brush and want a clean cool green shade in their palette. It also suits those who mix their greens themselves and need the blue pole of the scale, from which a warmer green can be brought out with yellow.

The paint is intended for modeling use. Keep it out of the reach of children, work in a well-ventilated room and close the bottle carefully after use.
