The set is named after the tone Molten Red. How many containers are in it and what volume they have is stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.
The name refers to molten metal, that is to a red with a hot character radiating toward orange. It offers itself everywhere a surface is to look red-hot: on cracks in a lava base, on forges and blacksmithing scenes, on exhausts and glowing gun barrels, on the energy elements of science fiction machinery. It also comes into its own as the saturated middle when building a transition from dark red to light yellow.
Stir the container properly before picking the paint up. The thinner intended for this range and the thinning ratio are in the manufacturer's instructions and those take precedence, because a thinner from another range may curdle the paint. Red shades tend to cover less well, so lay them over a lighter base and rather in several thin coats than in one heavy one. Run the transition from the hot middle to the cooler surroundings in small steps and let each coat dry, otherwise the edges bleed and the transition loses its shape.
The paints of this set are supplied. Brushes, an airbrush and thinner are not included, unless stated otherwise.
