A set of the basic shades from the Oilbrusher line by AMMO of Mig Jimenez. An oil paint in a bottle with a built-in brush, meant for work on the surface of a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Oilbrusher is an oil paint in a bottle whose cap carries a thin brush. That does away with the palette and with squeezing paint out of a tube: the brush picks the paint up straight from the bottle and applies it to the model. This set brings together the basic shades of the line, that is the ones most often needed for work on the surface of a model. The exact list of shades and their number is given on the manufacturer's packaging.
On a model an oil paint does not serve as a covering coat but as an extra layer: stippling brings a uniform area to life, a stroke from top to bottom suggests streaking, and a dark tone worked into corners and around rivets deepens the shadow. The advantage of oil is that it dries slowly. The paint stays workable for a long time, so it can be blended, toned down and even taken off again if the result is not right.
Work on a surface coated with a gloss or semi-gloss varnish; on a flat surface the oil soaks in and can no longer be blended. Apply little paint and blend it with a clean soft brush moistened with a thinner for oil paints, drawing the strokes in the direction in which water would run down the real machine. Allow a longer drying time than with ordinary modeling paints, and then tie the finished work together with a final varnish. It pays to work in small steps and to go over an area a few more times rather than to flood it with paint at once.
It is supplied as a set of paints in the pack described by the manufacturer. The thinner, brushes, varnishes and the model are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
