The Browning M1919 .30 caliber machine gun in its early form, with the M20 mount, in 1:48 scale. Separate parts for completing vehicles and dioramas.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Browning M1919 .30 caliber machine gun was among the most widespread American weapons of the Second World War. Air cooling and belt feed made it a weapon that found a use just as well on an infantry tripod as on a vehicle mount. The set captures the early form and with it the mounting marked M20.
The set brings the weapon and its mount as separate parts in 1:48 scale. It replaces the simplified part from a kit and finds a use everywhere the machine gun is to be seen close up: on a vehicle, with a figure or in a scene.
Hold the weapon by its body while cleaning it up, as the barrel with its jacket is thin in this scale and bends easily. Once degreased, a thin layer of dark primer is enough; a heavier coat would fill the fine relief. Create the metallic look with drybrushing only on the edges; a large area of a metallic shade looks out of place in 1:48 scale.
The accessory will be used by modelers of American vehicles and dioramas in 1:48 scale for whom the weapon from the box is not enough. Seating it in the mount calls for tweezers and a moment of patience, but the result gives a scene sharpness. There is no model, figures, paints or glue in the package, unless stated otherwise.
