Flyhawk 1:700 Tirpitz 1942 (Deluxe Edition) is a detailed plastic kit of the German battleship with photo-etch and 3D-printed parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the German battleship Tirpitz in her 1942 configuration in 1:700 scale from the manufacturer Flyhawk. The Deluxe Edition adds photo-etch and 3D-printed parts to the injection-molded plastic for the maximum fineness of detail.
The Tirpitz was the sister ship of the Bismarck and the second battleship of the Bismarck class. With an armament of eight 380mm guns she was among the mightiest warships in Europe. She was launched in 1939 and entered service in 1941. She spent most of her career in the Norwegian fjords, where her mere presence tied down forces of the Allied fleet and made them face the threat of a sortie against the convoys to the Soviet Union, until she was sunk by British bombers in 1944.
In 1:700 scale the photo-etched parts are very small - use super glue and tweezers. The hull can be built as a full hull on a stand or shortened to the waterline. It is advisable to start with the hull and the main decks; fit the fine gun turrets and the anti-aircraft weapons only at the end. The intricate superstructures and the camouflage schemes will come out well after an airbrush and emphasis with a wash into the recesses.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
