Masks for the canopy glazing of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A-0/A-4 model in 1:72 scale, for the Kovozavody Prostejov kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
In 1:72 scale the frames of the glazing are so thin that cutting them out of tape is hard work, and a single inaccurate edge shows on the finished model. Pre-shaped masks do away with that problem: the outlines match the parts of the Kovozavody Prostejov kit, that is the Fw 190 A-0/A-4 model from Kovozavody Prostejov. How many masks the set holds, and whether it covers further surfaces, is worth checking against the manufacturer's information.
The Fw 190 of the A series is a German fighter with an air-cooled BMW 801 radial engine, which gave the nose its characteristic stocky shape. The A-0 version belongs to the first machines built, while the A-4 is already a production one. On the A series the canopy glazing slides, and it gave the pilot a good view to the sides, so a great deal of it is visible on the model and it is worth spending time on. The differences between the individual versions of the A series lie in the details of armament and equipment, but the shape of the canopy stays common to them.
Wash and degrease the glazing, and only then stick the masks on, always before spraying. Press the edges down with a blunt point so that paint does not creep under them, and apply thin coats. Take the mask off shortly after the paint has dried. Fix the clear part in place with a cement intended for transparent plastics, because ordinary cement for polystyrene could cloud it. Wipe adhesive residue left by the mask away with a cotton swab moistened with water, since thinner has no place on glazing.
A masking set is supplied. The kit, paints, glue and decals are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
