A kit of the British twin-engine Britten-Norman BN-2 Islander aircraft in 1:48 scale, in a release for the BN-2T and BN-2B versions.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Britten-Norman Islander is a British twin-engine high-wing monoplane with fixed landing gear, designed for short routes and for operating from short and unpaved surfaces. It has been built since the mid-1960s and serves with small airlines, with coastal patrols, with the police and with armed forces. The letter T in the BN-2T designation belongs to the version with turboprop engines, while the BN-2B is the piston variant; both have the same angular fuselage with large doors at the sides.
This is a kit in 1:48 scale covering both of the versions mentioned. What exactly the package contains, which parts belong to which variant and what finishes the instructions offer are given by the manufacturer in the enclosed instructions. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Try fitting the parts dry before gluing, above all on the fuselage and the engine nacelles; the seams are then easier to fill and sand. Glue the cockpit glazing in only once the interior is painted and mask the windows beforehand so that they stay clean while spraying. Fit the fixed landing gear only after the base painting, as it is then easier to reach under the wing and the landing gear legs with a brush.
For a modeler who likes civilian and utility aircraft outside the mainstream and wants a machine with a distinctive silhouette in the display case. Paints, glue and filler are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
