1:72 Heinkel He-112B is an injection-molded plastic kit of the German fighter that lost the competition for the contract to the Bf 109 and found its use mainly in export.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Heinkel He 112 fighter in the B version in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer RS Models. It is a short-run model, that is, a kit with a finely engraved surface but with fewer locating pins than mass-produced sets have. The parts therefore call for careful dry fitting and a little more work on alignment. The result, though, is a type you will practically never find in the mainstream.
The He 112 came about as a rival to the Messerschmitt Bf 109 in the competition for a new German fighter. It had an elliptical wing, a wide landing gear track and a more comfortable cockpit, but it lost on performance and on complexity of manufacture. The B version was given a shortened wing and the inverted V12 Junkers Jumo 210, that is, an engine with its cylinders below the crankshaft. The aircraft made its mark mainly in export and served, among others, in Romania, in Spain and in Japan.
Dry fit the parts first and find your own alignment; on short-run kits the pins cannot be relied on. Use liquid cement for plastic applied into the joint with a small brush. Fill and sand the seams on the fuselage before you start spraying. Apply a primer before painting; a thin wash over a gloss clear coat suits the accentuated panel engraving.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
