Gunze Russian Green 4BO (Flat) is a matte water-thinnable acrylic modeling paint in a 10 ml bottle. 4BO is the Soviet designation of the standard green color of Soviet and Russian military vehicles. It is a paint, not a kit.

A modeling paint, not a kit. This shade comes from the water-thinnable acrylic range of the Gunze (Mr. Hobby) brand — so it really is an acrylic, not a lacquer. The bottle holds 10 ml and the surface is matte (flat). The paint is thinned with water or with the manufacturer's thinner intended for this acrylic range; for an airbrush the manufacturer recommends fairly generous thinning (roughly 100-150% thinner). Brushes and airbrush are cleaned with water as long as the paint is wet.
An important distinction between ranges: Gunze also carries a paint under the same name and the same shade number in its lacquer (cellulose) Mr. Color range. The shade is practically identical, but the chemistry and the thinner are not — the lacquer variant is thinned with cellulose thinner, reacts aggressively with plastic and has strong fumes. This product is the acrylic variant, thinnable with water. When restocking, please check that you are buying the same range.
4BO is the Soviet designation of the standard green color of Soviet, and later Russian, military vehicles. It was not one camouflage green among many — it was the basic, universally used color that the overwhelming majority of Red Army equipment was sprayed with: T-34 tanks and other types, self-propelled guns, armored personnel carriers and artillery. It was used from the Second World War right into the postwar period, which makes it one of the most needed colors of all if you build Soviet vehicles. Real vehicles did differ in color, though — by production batch, wear, dust and fading — so the shade is worth modulating, toning and weathering further on a model.
For modelers of military vehicles who build Soviet or Russian subjects and want to work with water-thinnable acrylics without aggressive solvents. It is worth stirring the paint thoroughly before use, as the pigment settles.
