A resin set of plugs and chocks for a Su-30 model in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. It holds the equipment that the ground crew puts on a parked aircraft: covers for the openings on the airframe and chocks that keep the machine from moving on the flight line. The set is printed in resin and belongs with a finished model; it is not an aircraft kit.
The Su-30 is a heavy two-seat machine with large air intakes under the fuselage and with massive nozzles. A fair number of places are therefore covered on the flight line and the wheels are secured with chocks. The covers tend to be brightly colored, so that a technician cannot overlook them, and in photographs from an airfield they form a marked contrast against the gray-blue finish of the aircraft.
Release the parts from the supports with a new blade over a working surface. Sand the mating faces, so that a cover sits tightly. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Spray the covers separately from the model and fit them only once the weathering is finished, so that they stay clean and vivid.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
