A set of stipple brushes of natural hair in sizes 3, 5, 7 and 10. For texturing surfaces and applying paint by dabbing.
Responsibility details are not available.
A stipple brush is not held like an ordinary brush and you do not draw a line with it. You work with it at right angles to the surface, in short dabs that lay the paint down in irregular flecks. That is exactly what creates a texture no smooth stroke will ever make: weathered plaster, dusty paintwork, a hint of corrosion or a softly blurred transition between two camouflage shades.
The package holds four brushes in sizes 3, 5, 7 and 10, that is from a fine tip for detail to a wider mark for large areas. The hair is natural, so it picks the paint up well and springs back into shape after a dab. Choose the size by the area: smaller numbers for equipment and small details, larger ones for a fuselage, a truck bed or the walls of buildings in a diorama.
Dab the paint off onto a scrap of paper first so that too much material does not stay in the hair and the flecks are not smeared. Apply thinned paint in several coats and let the base show through underneath; the result will be more natural than one heavy coat. Dry pigments are applied into corners and around rivets in the same way.
Wash the brush after work, reshape the hair and let it dry tip upward; never leave it standing on the bottom of a jar of thinner, because the hair will be permanently bent. The set suits modelers who build figures, equipment and dioramas and want to give surfaces some texture. The package contains only the brushes, unless stated otherwise; paints and pigments are not included.
