Vallejo True Metallic Metal – Sterling Silver

A set of true metallic paints from the True Metallic Metal range by Vallejo in a silver shade. These are water-thinnable acrylics that create a realistic bright metal surface thanks to real metal pigments. The set contains four matched shades intended for the light – base – shadow sequence (the BSL system) plus a version for the airbrush, so contrast and metal highlights can be built up with metallic paints alone. The neutral silver suits armor, weapons and machine parts and also works as a base for mixing with other tones.

Use

• Thinned with water or an acrylic thinner; do not mix them with enamel or lacquer paints.
• They look best on a smooth, matte-primed surface – a black or dark base is recommended.
• Build the highlight up from shadow through base to light; thin the airbrush version appropriately.
• The pigment settles to the bottom – shake the bottle thoroughly before use and during work.
• Apply metallic paints toward the end, as they are harder to overspray and to mask.
