Tall self-adhesive tufts of dry grass in winter coloring, twelve millimeters high, 17 pieces.
Responsibility details are not available.
When the snow retreats, or before it has fallen, what remains from the summer is tall dry grass that has turned gray and lost all its freshness. Growth like that gives a winter scene a depth that a plain white surface never has. The tufts can be left sticking out of a drift, leaned against a ruin or placed along a frozen ditch; the contrast between the light surface and the darker stalk is what makes the scene readable.
Twelve millimeters is the maximum in the range, and the contents match: there are seventeen pieces, fewer than in the smaller sizes, because a tuft takes up considerably more room. In 1:35 scale this is grass reaching a soldier to mid-body, in 1:48 scale it is already dense reed growth, and in 1:72 scale it is even a low shrub. That is exactly why it suits the edges of a scene, where the eye is meant to stop.
The taller the stalks, the more it matters how they stand. Stand the tuft upright with tweezers and hold it for a moment so that the adhesive base takes over its whole area. Opening the top out with your fingers takes the machine-made regularity out of the tuft.
It is better to sprinkle snow material only once the grass is standing - it then catches on the stalks and around them, and the transition between the growth and the drift looks convincing. It pays to lean a few tufts in the direction of the prevailing wind, because growth standing straight up looks artificial. The terrain, the snow material and the model are not included in the delivery.
