A themed paint set from the IONIC range for British armored vehicles from the start of the Second World War, from 1939 to 1941.
Responsibility details are not available.
This paint set from the IONIC range is aimed at British armored vehicles from 1939 to 1941. Machines deployed in Europe carried subdued green and brown tones, whereas vehicles in North Africa received light sand finishes, divided into several fields of color on some of them. Early British armor is therefore a rewarding subject: on the same vehicle both the earthy European palette and a markedly lighter desert scheme can be played out, and the set keeps the shades together for it.
Stir the contents of the container before work. Lay the base tone on in thin coats so that the rivets and hatches stay legible, and apply the further fields of camouflage only over a base that has dried. The thinner intended for this range and the thinning ratio are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging and those instructions take precedence. Desert vehicles can take a marked lightening of the horizontal surfaces; with the European earthy tones proceed more sparingly, so that the finish does not turn gray. Leave dust and wear on the edges to the end, once all the areas of color have dried.
For modelers who build British vehicles from the start of the war, and for diorama builders, to whom earthy and sand tones suit crates, tarpaulins and equipment. The set saves hunting for individual shades, because it carries them together for one theme.
The number of shades, their names and the volume of the containers are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging of the set. The model, glue and painting tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
