A themed paint set from the IONIC range for the uniforms of the Italian army from 1939 to 1943.
Responsibility details are not available.
This paint set from the IONIC range is aimed at the uniforms of the Italian army from 1939 to 1943. The Italian field uniform was worn in a gray-green tone, whereas in North Africa and the Mediterranean lighter khaki and sand shades prevailed. To that belong leather straps, canvas webbing and the helmet, which differ from the cloth not only in color but in sheen. The set keeps these tones together, so a palette for one figure or for a whole group does not have to be put together bottle by bottle.
Stir the container before picking the paint up; settled pigment is normal in modeling paints. On a figure work from the base tone to a darker one in the folds and a lighter one on the edges; gray-green and khaki are colors with little contrast of their own, so without this modulation the figure stays flat. Apply thinly and in several coats, as one heavy coat floods the buttons and seams. The thinner intended for this range and the thinning ratio are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging and those instructions take precedence. Clean the brushes right after work.
For modelers who build Italian vehicles and want to paint a crew or supporting infantry to go with them, and for figure painters who find it useful to have a theme put together in one palette. The subdued earthy tones also come into their own on equipment, bags and tarpaulins in a diorama.
The number of shades, their names and the volume of the containers are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging of the set. Figures, a model and painting tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
