Aber – embossing plates 90 x 60 mm are photo-etched metal plates with which regular surface patterns, for example non-skid sheet, are pressed into plastic or metal foil.
Responsibility details are not available.
A modeling aid from the Polish maker Aber. The plate measuring 90 x 60 mm carries an etched relief pattern that serves as a die: the pattern is transferred onto the surface of a part through thin metal foil or softened plastic. It is neither a kit nor a detail set for a particular model – it is a tool for repeated use, with which you make your own textured sheet in any quantity.
Lay thin metal foil, aluminum or copper, on the plate and press the pattern into it with a smooth hard tool, for example a burnisher or the rounded end of a metal point. Work continuously and evenly, otherwise the relief will be uneven. With plastic, brief heating or a press is used, but always with a light touch so that the material does not ripple. Cut the finished sheet to the shape you need and glue it on with cyanoacrylate glue. Wipe the plate down after the work – it stays usable again and again.
For scratchbuilders, builders of military vehicles and dioramas and for ship and aircraft modelers who want their own textured sheet without depending on whether a ready-made photo-etched set exists for the scale in question.
This is a modeling tool with no scale given. Foil, glue and paints are not included in the package.
