The set contains a thin metal fret with small parts created by photo-etching. They are held in the fret on fine bridges and the modeler cuts them out of it gradually. It is not a kit but an accessory to the model you are building. The number three tells this variant apart within the universal range; frets with other numbers hold different shapes.

The point of photo-etched parts is simple. Injection-molded plastic has a technologically given minimum thickness and fine edges on it therefore always look more massive than they should. Etched metal is markedly thinner, so panels, grilles or covers look believable. With a universal range you are moreover not tied to one model; you choose the parts by shape and size and place them according to your own intention. It is practical to plan the details out before painting, because once they are glued on the surface is harder to work.

Use

• Cut a part out with a sharp scalpel against a hard surface and never break it out of the fret.
• Remove the remains of the bridges with a fine file or a sanding block.
• Make any bends over an etching bender or a straight edge in one calm movement.
• Glue with cyanoacrylate glue; on larger areas with two-part epoxy.
• Before painting, degrease the metal and cover it with a base coat intended for metal.
