A cutting blade from the Etch Slide tool line. A separate item, a tool for cutting.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a cutting blade from the Etch Slide tool line, a tool meant for cutting; several further blades and replacement parts of the same line carry the same designation. The blade is a separate item, that is, a consumable part for a tool you already own, not a finished tool with a handle. Which holder it is used in and what procedure it is intended for is given by the manufacturer's instructions.
A blunt blade does not cut plastic, it tears it: the edge lifts, the material whitens and the mark left by the cut then has to be laboriously sanded away. A sharp blade goes through the same place under less pressure and the cut stays clean. It is therefore worth changing blades before a ruined part forces you to, and better to discard a blunt one straight away than to try to resharpen it.
Cut on a hard surface and make several shallow passes instead of one deep one. Hold the blade square to the surface, otherwise the edge bends and the cut wanders. After work, wipe the cutting edge dry and store the blade so that the edge does not rest against anything.
The blade will suit anyone who already uses the Etch Slide line and needs to replenish consumables. The edges are sharp, so bear that in mind when handling it and keep the blade out of the reach of children. The holder, a handle and other tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
