Family Fishing is a set of hand-painted figures on a fishing motif in HO scale (1:87) from the Scenic Accents line of the American maker Woodland Scenics. The figures are finished and ready to be placed on a layout or in a diorama.

This is a set of hand-modeled and hand-painted figures in the railroad scale HO, that is 1:87. It is not a kit and not an unpainted casting; all the pieces are finished and complete in color down to the small details. The Scenic Accents line is built precisely on the fact that a modeler gets a usable vignette at once, without painting and without waiting for anything to dry.
The set captures a family out fishing. Besides the figures it also holds a rowboat and a piece of a wooden pier, so that a complete vignette by the water can be put together from it without further purchases. The motif suits the bank of a pond, a river under a railroad bridge or a landing by the track. A sheet of water on a layout looks empty; a few figures on the bank link it to the rest of the scene at once.
The set is ready for immediate use; nothing is glued and nothing is painted. While placing the pieces, keep the direction of the figures' gaze in mind, because when the figures look at each other or at what is going on around them the scene looks natural. Fixing is handled by a drop of PVA or cyanoacrylate glue, or by a small dimple in the terrain. If you rebuild a scene often or there is dust on the layout, it pays off to spray the figures with matte varnish, as the paint then stands up to rubbing better and takes dusting off with a soft brush.
The figures are supplied finished and hand-painted. Glue, terrain materials and further accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
