A modeling paint from the Orange Line range by Hataka, carried under the designation HTK-C288. The name defines it as a brown shade with a fawn cast shifted toward red and refers to the European RAL reference, item 8007. A reference to a color standard helps when building: the shade can be compared with documentation and with the paints of other ranges. Judge the resulting tone by the color chart of the manufacturer; the rendering on a monitor always differs somewhat from a dried coat.
On a model a brown comes into its own as a field of camouflage and outside it as well: on wooden parts, on the leather equipment of figures, on crates and tarpaulins and on the ground in a scene. It also serves well as a base under dust and deposits of mud, because it takes later shades into itself without a sharp break.
A brown area comes alive when you build it up in layers: lift the center of a panel with a drop of a lighter tone and leave the seams and the corners darker. Lead the transition to the neighboring fields softly, from a greater distance and at lower pressure. Work in a ventilated space.
