A monograph from the Warpaint book series, focused on the Italian Fiat G.91 light attack aircraft. The Warpaint series treats one aircraft type at a time, its development, its versions and its service with the individual users. The text is in English.
The Fiat G.91 came out of a NATO requirement for a light attack aircraft that would make do with a short unpaved strip and be cheap to operate. It entered service at the turn of the 1950s and 1960s and was powered by a single turbojet. Besides the Italian Air Force it was taken up on a large scale by West Germany and it also flew in Portugal. Reconnaissance versions with cameras in the nose and a two-seat trainer form were built, and the later G.91Y got a pair of engines. The Italian aerobatic team Frecce Tricolori flew the type as well.
The book suits a modeler who is looking for reference for a G.91 under construction, that is the shape, the equipment and the finishes of particular machines, and also a reader interested in postwar European aviation. It is a title to work with and to leaf through, not an illustrated publication without text.
This is a book title. A kit, decals and accessories do not come with it, unless stated otherwise.
