A flexible stencil with a 9 mm grid of hexagons

A universal Green Stuff World masking stencil with a regular honeycomb of hexagons 9 mm in size. It is not a part of a model or a kit but an aid for painting. The pattern is cut into thin flexible plastic, so the stencil adapts even to a curved surface and leaves a sharp outline behind it.

A large cell has a different use from a fine grid

Nine-millimeter hexagons are easy to read on larger areas. They suit the wings and fuselages of models in larger scales, the shields and fairings of wargaming vehicles, the bases of dioramas and also sci-fi force fields and energy shields. On a tiny figure, by contrast, one cell would fill a whole panel.

Use

• The surface under the stencil has to be completely cured and clean, because otherwise it will be damaged during handling.
• Press the stencil down over its whole area; on curves hold it or fix it with masking tape around the perimeter.
• Spray perpendicularly, in thin coats and rather in several passes.
• Take the stencil off right after spraying, while the paint has not set, because otherwise it peels away together with the coat.
• The pattern can be moved along and joined up; make a trial of the join on cardboard in advance.

Who the stencil is for

For modelers and wargamers who want a regular geometric pattern without measuring by hand, for makers of sci-fi miniatures and for diorama builders who need a technical grid on floors and panels. An airbrush and basic experience with masking are assumed.

Paints, an airbrush and masking tape are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Clean the stencil immediately after use. Spray in a well ventilated space and protect your airways.
