A hand-launched glider is the simplest flying model there is: it has no motor, no propeller and no transmitter, and it gets into the air from your hand. FOXIK is made of EPO foam, a light and springy material that takes the ordinary knocks of landing in grass considerably better than rigid plastic. This item is the blue version; the same model also appears in another color finish.
The model is released with a smooth forward movement, slightly upward, and never sharply from the shoulder — a hand-launched glider does not need force but a smooth, level start. Once released it glides down a gentle path to the ground; well balanced it flies long and straight, badly balanced it either dives or rears up and falls off on a wing. The balance is tuned with a small weight in the nose and by bending the tail surfaces gently. On sunny days you can even catch mild rising air over a warmed surface, which lengthens the flight considerably.
Fly in calm air or in a very light wind; a stronger wind carries a small hand-launched glider away at once. Choose a grassy area clear of trees, wires, cars and people. If it is damaged, EPO foam can be glued with cyanoacrylate glue suitable for foams or with a special adhesive for foam models — ordinary solvent cements for plastic, on the other hand, will eat the material away. Before every flight check that the surfaces are seated straight and are not warped; a crooked surface will reliably turn the model into a bank.
The model is intended for flying in open space away from roads, power lines and gatherings of people. For the extent of the assembly and the contents of the package, follow the details on the packaging.
