Abteilung 502 French Blue is a modeling acrylic paint in a French blue shade, suitable for a brush and for an airbrush.
Responsibility details are not available.
The French blue shade from the Abteilung 502 acrylic line. The paint has an acrylic binder, is thinned with water or an acrylic thinner, and differs from the oil and enamel products of the same brand in its chemistry, in its thinning and in the way the tools are cleaned.
With acrylics the result is decided before the paint is reached for. Bare injection-molded plastic tends to be smooth and greasy from the mold, resin carries remains of mold release agent and a photo-etched part is slippery metal. In all three cases it pays to wash the parts, let them dry properly and spray them with a primer. A primer gives the acrylic something to grip, unifies different materials into one surface and at the same time reveals scratches and unfinished joints before the color coat emphasizes them. The shade of the base also changes the result: on a gray primer the blue comes out more muted and deeper, on a white one brighter and with fewer coats. With blue shades, which tend to cover less well, a light base is often the difference between two coats and five.
For modelers who work with combined materials and want the certainty that the paint holds the same on plastic as on photo-etched metal. The use of a primer is assumed.
Close the bottle after use and stir the contents before applying. Ventilate and protect your airways when spraying. Keep out of the reach of children and protect from frost.
